Terms of service
These terms govern your use of mintsnimz.garden, the free DesignDNA generator and any output it produces. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them. DesignDNA is provided free of charge — there is no fee, no subscription and nothing for sale. Last updated 1 January 2026.
1. Parties and scope
These terms are an agreement between you and Mintsnimz Design Labs Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 14827365, registered office Unit 7, Caldwell Works, 118 Rye Lane, London SE15 4ST. They cover the public website, the guides published on it, the free account and sign-in process, and any generated design system output the tool supplies to you.
2. Your obligations
- Provide accurate information in the brief form. Generated output reflects the inputs given; incorrect inputs produce output that is less useful and are not a defect.
- Keep your sign-in link and your email account secure. Sign-in links are single-use and personal to you; do not forward them. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used your account.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting infrastructure or any account, and do not probe, scan or test the vulnerability of either without written permission.
- Do not scrape, mirror or systematically reproduce the guides for republication. Quoting a short extract with attribution and a link is welcome.
- Do not automate the generator at a volume that degrades it for other people, and do not create accounts in bulk to evade rate limits.
- Do not submit content you do not have the rights to, and do not submit material that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes a third party's rights.
- Do not use the site or its output to build a product whose primary purpose is to compete with the DesignDNA generator itself.
3. Intellectual property
The site design, the guide text, the DesignDNA name and the generator's underlying logic remain the property of Mintsnimz Design Labs Ltd. Nothing on this site transfers ownership of those assets.
The output is treated differently, and it is yours. Token files, component notes and stylesheets produced for you by the generator come with a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to use, modify and distribute them, including in commercial products, with no attribution required and no payment at any point. The only limits are that you may not repackage the output and sell it as a standalone template or design system product, and you may not use it to build a competing generator. Third-party assets referenced in an output — typefaces, icon sets, photography — are licensed by you directly from their rights holders; we will identify what is required but we do not sublicense them.
Unless you ask us in writing not to, we may describe an interesting use of the tool in general terms in a portfolio or case note, including the design direction name and non-confidential visuals.
4. Free access and accounts
DesignDNA is free. There is no price list, no trial period, no paid tier and no feature held back behind payment. We do not take card details, we use no payment processor, and no part of this site or its output is offered for sale to you.
An account exists for one reason: so that a generated system can be returned to the person who asked for it and kept alongside their earlier briefs. Sign-in is passwordless — you submit an email address and we send a single-use link that expires shortly after it is issued. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. You may delete your account at any time by emailing us; the files you have already downloaded remain yours.
Because the service is free, we may change, limit, suspend or withdraw it, in whole or in part, at any time. Where we withdraw the tool or close accounts for reasons other than breach, we will give reasonable notice by email and, where practical, a way to export what is stored in your account first. We may also close an account that has been dormant for 24 months, after writing to the address on it.
5. Warranties and disclaimers
The guides on this site are published for general information. They describe methods, trade-offs and selection criteria; they are not advice tailored to your specific project, and applying them is your decision.
The site, the generator and its output are provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, nor that the content or output is free of errors or omissions. We apply reasonable skill and care to the generator's logic, and the contrast checks it states are run against the values it emits, but we give no warranty that a generated system will suit your brand, your product or any commercial objective. Judgement about fitness stays with you.
6. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of anticipated savings, loss or corruption of data, or any indirect or consequential loss, however arising. Because the service is supplied free of charge, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to £100.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from content you supply to us, from your use of generated output in a manner outside the licence granted, or from your breach of these terms.
8. Termination
You may stop using the site and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are breached, where use places the service or other users at risk, or where required by law. On termination, clauses concerning intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnity and governing law survive, and the licence you hold over output already generated for you continues unaffected.
9. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may change, add to or withdraw parts of the site and the generator. Where we materially change these terms, the updated version is published here with a revised date; continued use after that date constitutes acceptance. Where a change materially affects account holders, we notify the email address on the account.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms and any non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Before starting formal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt resolution in good faith by writing to the other with a description of the dispute and a proposed remedy, and to allow 30 days for a response. If that fails, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK may bring proceedings in their local courts.
11. General
If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in force. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights under these terms without our written consent. These terms form the entire agreement between the parties on their subject matter. Questions: [email protected].
